Mod - Slide out sofa bed
The Travato "K" layout we based our DIY class B RV on used 30 inch wide sofa beds. Our design used 26 inch wide sofa beds. Mostly to gain a wider center aisle that we really liked. However, it turned out 26 inch was not wide enough for me, as I sleep on my side. So we ended up always setting up the bed in the single large size each night. Really awesome, however accessing the rear bath room was difficult with no aisle. I had noticed the new Boldt class B floorplan had one side with a slide out bed. So one side can be wider in the bed mode. I liked that idea so we decided to make a few changes... We converted the driver side sofa bed to slide out. Here's how it looks when extended as a wide bed. It extends up to 36 inches wide. Construction was done by simply using a plywood base that was cut in a interlocking slider arrangement.
